Our cousin from America wanted to experience ‘high tea’ on a budget and we knew Harrods was the perfect place that fit her requirements. We were sat on the balcony overlooking the hustle and bustle of Knightsbridge, and Lamborghini’s parked on the streets below.
We can’t say this was our best experience but it was good enough because it was reasonably priced (always a plus), and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. The selection and choice of food wasn’t as great as our experiences at The Dorchester or The Ritz, but for £29.00 per person, tea at Harrods is cheap as chips...or as cheap as buying a Lambo if you're a Saudi Prince.
The food did come out quickly though and our hostess was really friendly. The only downside for us was that the desserts were mainly fruit based tarts, which isn’t really a downside if you like fruit as a dessert. Personally, fruit just doesn't cut it as a dessert. I guess it’s a nice way of fitting your five a day in. We’re chocolate and cheesecake kinda gals!
