This particular verse makes us evaluate the age-old questions, ''What is the purpose of life?''
Subsequently, we always find ourselves questioning if we are living our lives fruitfully with any substance, or simply passing each day with complete disregard for our limited tim here on Earth.
The monotony of our full-time work routine, (coupled with technological and societal distractions) often steals our focus away from the things the truly matter; family, the company of our friends, and learning to be present in the here and now.
Some of us are 'busy' earning to make ends meet. We are trapped in the rat-race making a living, but are we ACTUALLY living? More often than not, sis and I both find it a challenge to commit to the exhausting cycle that is the 9-5 working world (always questioning whether the job is right for us) and trying to manage a balancing act between our jobs and our creative endeavours.
We have to constantly remind ourselves of this verse from Gurbani, as it helps us to remember how precious this life of ours really is; feed your stomach, by all means, but remember to spend your time here doing things that also feed your soul
