Zero Hunger with Langar - Our 30th Birthday Pledge
To positively impact the lives of those less fortunate than us, please donate here
Lao Tzu, an ancient Chinese philosopher, once said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." As we turn 30 on Monday 16th October, we invite you to join us in taking the first steps towards ending world hunger
Turning 30 is a milestone not many people around the world get to reach, because of the lack of basic amenities such as food and clean drinking water
Birthdays are usually celebrated with lots of food, a cake and presents. As great as these things are, we both believe we already have enough wonderful gifts such as: the gift of sight & sound, being able-bodied, higher education, clean drinking water, the choice of deciding what to eat for breakfast, lunch & dinner, a generous income and much more!
Langar is the concept of 'FREE communal meals' served in a Gurudwara (Sikh place of worship). The Gurudwara and Langar is for EVERYONE regardless of your gender, age, social status and religious or non-religious beliefs
There are 795 million undernourished people in the world today
That means one in nine people do not get enough food to lead an active and healthy life. In fact, hunger and malnutrition are the number one risk to health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined
The good news is that hunger is entirely solvable
For our 30th, we have chosen to support 'Zero Hunger with Langar' - a not-for-profit organisation taking the concept of Langar away from the Gurudwara (Sikh place of worship) and out into the world at large
Every donation will make a difference - just £5 will provide 33 meals. That's more bang for your buck than a lunchtime meal deal in the city!
Help make our 30th birthday all the more meaningful and memorable by giving the gift of food to people around the world who need it the most
